Take Creativity to Another Level This Summer!
Operation Junk is where your summer fun and creativity begin. Join us for a weekly, day program of creativity, innovation and lots of FUN!
Operation Junk
Participants use team-building and problem-solving, while learning fun science stuff. Teams race against the clock, using information and materials (junk) provided to build super machines. Skills - Teamwork, decision-making, organization, classifying, predicting, creativity and more.
Yoga Imaginarium
Children have fun exercising, while striking poses and imitating movements and sounds of nature. Yoga provides an excellent way for children to relax, bolster self-esteem and improve self-discipline. Presented by SoilSound. Skills - Focus, coordination, strength, body awareness, enhanced flexibility.

Summer 2012 Schedule & Unit Descriptions
July 9 - July 13 | Blast Off
July 16 - July 20 | Kitchen Chemistry
July 23 - July 27 | Customized Cars
July 30 - Aug 3 | Build It Yourself
Aug 6 - Aug 10 | Flying Machines
Blast Off
We are blasting off. We will work with and build different types of flying machines. We will learn about propulsion and air power as we create and build marshmallow launchers. And for all you aero-maniacs out there we will be launching rockets NASA style.
Kitchen Chemistry
All young scientist enjoy mixing up concoctions to see what they can produce. They will be introduced to chemistry and will come away from this class with more recipes, mixtures, and a new appreciation of what is involved in making their favorite meals.
Customized Cars
Use your creativity to create a gravity powered car that will travel the greatest distance in the shortest amount of time. Campers will learn about aerodynamic shape. Campers will also create a 'Crash" car that will keep our crash test dummy (egg) safe.
Build It Yourself
Learn how things work and why they sometimes don't. Take apart household items and then build, create, and discover your own items to make using the science of physics (study of motion, matter and energy).
Flying Machines
We will give campers a first-hand look into the world of engineering. Campers will design catapults, trebuchets, and launchers to send marshmallows and ping pong balls flying. They will use their imagination to construct devices that allow them to compete against each other.
